Monday: the city posted No Parking on the street for 4/11-4/13 -- squarely the dates we'd planned to have the epoxy paint applied to the garage floor! This isn't a delay we can avoid though.
Painters primed the exterior, despite windy conditions.
Another "hidden cost": we spent $230 (gah!) on a 12-foot ladder. This is what happens when you ask for a 15-foot ridge! We'll need it to install lights and build a loft, but its first task was to let me stain/polyurethane the skylights.
Tuesday: forms in place for driveway approach, including holes for our gutter drainage system. Sunnyvale took down the no-parking notices, guess they'll repave next week. Bummer 'cause I'd already rescheduled the floor painters and they could have been here after all.
Wednesday: driveway approach poured!
The painters finished the exterior, and then finished the gray
trim as well. Our color selection was a shoulder-shrug: might
as well match the house since we have no idea what else to do.
The house will need repainting sometime in the next few years,
and we'll agonize then about choosing historically correct
colors (the Craftsman-era houses were never white!).
