The building inspection passed Tuesday!

And, the final sign that the project is coming to a close: the port-o-potty was taken away.

Met with the Milgard manufacturing rep at home, who confirmed that Milgard does indeed make two poles, one of them with the correct socket and bevel drive to remotely ("indirectly") operate our windows. He'll get back to me this week on it.

Still a mystery why Milgard's "direct" pole (that we got) costs (get this) list price $370! We got a big discount, apparently, and got it for a mere $200. Incredibly, the "direct" pole (that's just a long extension hook), and the "indirect" pole (with the bevel drive and hex socket) are listed at the same price. I suggested to the Milgard rep that they can save a lot of money by buying their poles retail from Velux for $30... on the other hand, what AM I saying. Milgard is making out nicely on those poles.
